Blog post #3; Select your hero


Hey guys, another blog post!

The entire game world is one big adventure. Tho, in this case, the adventure takes place in the cave. Heroes all over the world explore different dungeons and chase treasure and fame.

This newly discovered cave is a gem mine, dangerous and unexplored. A new opportunity to gain the fame and wealth every hero desires. 

Ideal background for this arena-like dungeon slasher. As a player, you will determine which class will survive the hordes of monsters and will uncover the secret of the cave.

Playable classes

A player will be able to select 1 out of 5 different classes.

*Brave villager, Warrior, Mage, Rogue, Treasure hunter

No gear restriction

The main idea behind the classes is to have them all the same in terms of gameplay. This means that they all have the same movement, jump height, and speed and any class can equip any weapon or armour they will find in the cave.

A mage can equip a bow, a Rogue can equip a magic wand and a Warrior can equip anything he finds. There are no class/gear restrictions in the game.

Attributes

As heroes level up, they cherish their primary attributes. Mage level-ups Magic, Warrior level-ups Strength, Rogue increases Dexterity. There will also be different ways how to increase attributes as well. 

Each gear has its base value and certain attributes affect this base damage. Never in a negative way. The weapon will always have its base damage no matter which class equips it, however, if a warrior carries a sword, his strength will also affects this weapon as it's a weapon more suitable for the warrior class than the bow. This is just an example.

Traits

Each class will have its unique trait (eg. treasure hunter gains more coins from the chest). I won't dive much into details on the traits yet. The trait part is still under development.

*you can name each hero 

As you see I don't plan limits on gear. Anyone can equip anything, there are no movement restrictions either. However class still plays its role.

Permanent death

When a hero dies, he will die forever and a new hero will arrive in his place. Players will share certain items, between a dead hero and a new hero. As days go by, some events may also happen. Yes, there will be a day system in the game. Day 1, day 2... About that, I will write some other time.
