Blog post #2; Into the Cave so far


Hey guys,

I will explain a brief idea behind the game today as many might still wonder what it will be about. Briefly: about slashing and the exploration.


*You and the mysterious hero are exploring the cave together! Working on the tutorial part, where you can't die because the other guy carries a healing wand. Tho I am not sure if you can trust random guys in the dangerous dungeon!

The main idea for this game is very simple. There's a newly discovered cave in the world which is driven by heroes. These guys explore anything.

This cave is not ordinary tho, though monsters there drop the gems! And so there's a huge interest in its exploration.

The game is very simple in spirit: Dungeon slasher with Perma deaths, with an ability to keep something from previous runs, and its goal is to explore the cave. For this, I added 5 different classes, yet all same in the movements, so I am not restricting the gameplay factor for any, they differ in stats and in ways in which stats they level up faster.

I am in a phase now, where I slowed the actual game making as I am making "some tools" for the game rather than the game itself. Yet all are part of the whole.


*This is the same room as you can see in the image above. The game itself then generates the tile icons, grass and other stuff on the runtime. I plan to expand this editor greatly, so it can generate more stuff randomly.
